EX-00 — EX-00 — Prórroga de Estancia por Estudios

The application form to renew (extend) your student residence authorization. Used before applying for a new TIE card during renewal.

How to get it

Download from the Ministry of Inclusion website. For renewal, this is typically submitted online through the Mercurio platform using a digital certificate.

How to fill it

Fill in the same legal name and NIE as on your current TIE. The renewal must justify continued studies — you will attach proof of enrollment in your program for the next academic period.

Field-by-field guide

1) DATOS DEL EXTRANJERO/A — Your info

Copy everything from your current TIE exactly.

PASAPORTE: Current passport number, no spaces.
Example: AB1234567
N.I.E.: Your existing NIE (required for renewal).
Example: Y1234567X
Apellidos / Nombre: Same as your current TIE. No nicknames.
Sexo: H = male, M = female, X = non-binary.
Fecha de nacimiento: Day/Month/Year.
Example: 07/03/2002
Lugar / País: City and country of birth.
Example: Mexico City / México
Nacionalidad: In Spanish.
Example: Mexicana
Estado civil: S = single, C = married, V = widowed, D = divorced, Sp = separated.
Nombre del padre / madre: Parents' full names. Dash if unknown.
Domicilio / Nº / Piso: Current address. Must match your registered address.
Example: Carrer de Balmes / 45 / 3º 2ª
Localidad / C.P. / Provincia: City, postal code, province.
Example: Barcelona / 08008 / Barcelona
Teléfono móvil / E-mail: Active phone and email.
Representante legal: Blank if you're 18+.

Skip. Only filled if a lawyer/gestor is filing for you.

3) DOMICILIO A EFECTOS DE NOTIFICACIONES

Copy address from Section 1.

4) Reason — most important

Tick the renewal/extension box (labeled PRÓRROGA), NOT the first-issuance one. For the reason, pick Studies (Estudios).

Duración solicitada: Length of your continued program.
Example: 12 meses

5) FAMILIARES QUE LE ACOMPAÑAN

Skip unless spouse/child renews with you.

6) FIRMA

City, date (DD/MM/YYYY), signature in BLACK ink.

Common mistakes

— Applying too early — renewals can be submitted starting 60 days before your TIE expires
— Applying too late — you have up to 90 days after expiration but risk being out of status
— Forgetting to include proof of medical insurance and proof of sufficient financial means
— Ticking 'Inicial' instead of 'Prórroga' in section 4 — this is a renewal, not a first application
